My Thoughts on Using Supplements
I believe in supplements. I use supplements.
BUT PLEASE NOTE… you cannot continue to eat a junk-food diet, and then expect to take a supplement that will give your miraculous results.
Good health and weight-loss ALWAYS begins with cleaning up your diet first!
While you can definitely see results on the MARI Method without taking supplements, there are times when supplements can speed up your results. This is especially true if you’ve messed up your metabolism by yo-yo dieting, or if you suffer adrenal fatigue from constant stress.
So, I’m posting a list of supplements that I personally use, or that I share when someone asks me for that kind of information:
I do NOT believe that all supplements are created equal. The following list shows the exact brands that I have researched, and believe to be the best products at best prices.
Biosuperfood F3 This is the supplement I credit for balancing my hormones. I have personally been taking this since January, 2011, and have seen dramatic improvements in my overall health. BSF is said to influence the hypothalamus. In the words of Dr. Michael Kiriac, Ph.D., “BSF awakens the genius within.” BSF will not only feed your deficient cells, but will nourish those more difficult-to-reach cells in the brain, restoring their energy and critical metabolisms. Magnesium Citrate (Natural Calm) from local health food store – This is the one supplement I will NOT do without! Among many other things….Magnesium helps you de-stress, builds strong bones, and keep you “regular”. In America we take 3-5x’s the calcium we need and only half or less than half the amount of required magnesium. And, since magnesium is required to absorb calcium, that is why people are “calcium deficient”.

The citrate-form of magnesium is more readily absorbed by your body. I personally use “Peter Gillham’s Natural Calm, Raspberry-Lemon Magnesium” on a daily basis. Natural Calm uses certified organic ingredients. It is the original ionic magnesium and is based on a proprietary form of magnesium citrate that has a high bioavailability. |

The brand I use is LifeSource Whey Protein LifeSource Whey Protein comes from unpasteurized milk from grass-fed cows. This whey is cold-processed to maintain the integrity of the protein. And, the grass-fed milk produces whey that is naturally higher in CLA. |

Everest Krill Oil, 1250 mg. per capsule – Krill oil is 7 times more effective than “fish oil” at balancing your cholesterol. PLUS, it does not cause you to “burp fish” like regular fish oil does. It also has anti-inflammation properties that are said to help relieve arthritis pain (I personally agree with this).
Studies that show positive results for Krill Oil are based on consuming 1200 mg – 3000 mg a day. These difference is that Krill oil contains a unique carotenoid called astaxanthin. Also, not all Krill oil is the same. If using another brand, make sure you compare to what is in the Everest Krill Oil.. You may be paying less… but getting a lot less, too!
Astaxanthin is a powerful antioxidant that is more effective than other natural antioxidants like beta-carotene, alpha-tocopherol, lycopene and lutein which makes it even more beneficial for fighting diseases influenced by oxidative damage. This includes arthritis, diabetes and heart disease.

Ubiquinol – Ubiquinol is the form of CoQ10 that is most readily absorbed by people over 25. If you are over 25, and are taking regular CoQ10, you are wasting you money. You’d need to take 8 times as much CoQ10 to get the same results as 1 Ubiquinol. CoQ10 is used for cardiovascular support. Ubiquinol is a patented product.

B-12, Sublingual – This is a sublingual B-12 powder that you put under your tongue for rapid absorption. I like this brand because they come in convenient packs. I slide a couple in my wallet and use when I need a little burst of energy!

Himalayan Salt. Himalayan salt contains minerals that have been processed out of “table salt”. Here’s a great video explaining the benefits of using Himalayan salt:
