Mari…I am 27 weeks pregnant and well over 100lbs overweight. I have been trying to lose weight (or at least maintain since pregnant) for two years now trying all kinds of shakes, calorie reduction, etc. I walk a mile at least 3 times a week – sometimes more, sometimes farther – i am not big into excessive exercising. But I do like my chocolate! :-) I don’t feel like my problem is self control, but more that whatever I try only works for a short time before my body adjusts and then I get discouraged. I ate only salads for 3 months and had loss, but I couldn’t sustain it (went on vacation and couldnt get back to it) and dealt severely with failure. Now I can hardly stand a salad :-( honestly, I need something, something I can start pregnant and continue while breast feeding, but also I need more than myself…I know from experience I can’t do it on my own…I’ve tried and it only causes stress in my marriage…I need serious help! Is the MARI method for me? I can be committed, but I fear another failure. You say you want me to be really serious…honestly…I’m tired. I’m tired of trying and failing…I can be serious…I need a working lifestyle change…but Im really tired of failing!

Hi Melanie – just from what you have written here, it looks like you’re metabolism is running very slowly. The MARI Method detox could help with this. Our detox is not a colon cleanse – it is an allergen elimination “diet” where you eat healthy foods, and eliminate potential allergens that can be slowing down your metabolism. I am a type 2 diabetic and have been trying to work on getting healthy without medication. I need to lose weight, find healthy recipes as well as change my eating habits so that I don’t spike my levels. My levels have been high and zap me of energy. Also causes emotional issues. I need to exercise regularly as well. I just started taking medication again and wish to be able to control my diabetes without medications in the future.

Glad to have you with us, Pam. The MARI Method is especially helpful for diabetics since it is based on the glycemic index.

I have been working very hard at changing my eating habits and exercising more and still have not lost any weight. I am 52 and in the middle of hormonal changes that challenge me every day. I pray to get a handle on these soon so I can loose the weight and enjoy things I like to do again.
