Hello, and welcome to The MARI Method Total Fitness Club!
As part of The MARI Method, I’ll be giving you the tools I’ve learned to use to help keep my weight “balanced” over the past 10 years. I hope you, too, will use these techniques to live a healthy, ACTIVE, life to it’s fullest.
For a little fun, I’d like you to share with the group a bit about yourself. Who knows… what you say here may be just what another member needs to hear to get over a hurdle!

Where I’m From: Conroe, TX
One fun thing that I’d like to do: hike rim to rim at the Grand Canyon (and I’m signed up for this summer!)
Favorite way to drink ACV: I drank it for the first time this afternoon diluted with a little water. I like the holding the breath idea.
My favorite healthy snack: apples
Why I’m excited about the program: I’m excited about the thought of having a healthy relationship with food. I, too, am so tired of the yoyoing.
One thing that I want to do that requires me to be in TOP shape: hike, hike, hike!!
Cindy – you’re upcoming adventure sounds like a blast! I look forward to seeing some pics.
About ending the yo-yoing… be sure you do all the Brain-Training and set time aside to learn the Eat Smart guides. These tools will empower you to develop that healthy relationship with food!

Where I’m From: Technically the Woodlands, but ALL of my immediate family lives in Winchester Virginia
One Crazy thing I’d like to do: Well, I’ve ALWAYS wanted to become scuba certified and go scuba diving in the Red Sea and the Great Barrier Reef.
Favorite way to drink ACV: I mix it with water and one packet of splenda, and down it like a shot.
Why I’m excited about the program: I’m excited about seeing other women getting involved with yoga!! It has changed my life and I know it will continue to grow me into the women I was meant to be. I’m thrilled to be a part of seeing changes in everyone’s lives!
One thing I want to do that requires me to be in TOP shape: Maybe become a professional modern/ballet dancer again. I had the wonderful opportunity to travel and dance for a few years. I stopped so I could go on and get my masters to become a dietitian.

Favorite way to drink ACV: in a glass with a little water but now I see the honey idea, I may try that

Why I’m excited about the program: I haven’t been exercising lately and I just don’t feel good like I used to plus I haven’t been eating as healthy as I used to. I now have my sister-in-law (Andrea Swanson) to do this with me, too. It’s always so much easier doing it with someone!
One thing I want to do that requires me to be in top shape: hike Diamond Head in Hawaii (don’t want to be out of breath!)
Hey Marlene – just want to make sure that using honey with the ACV is not low glycemic – so we don’t do that.
If you have to mix it with something, a low GI natural sweetener like Xylitol or ground stevie leaf. Or use something like crystal light if you use splenda.
But, we want to stay away from honey except on special occasions.

My favorite way to drink my ACV- I prefer to drink it quickly, not breathing and washing it down quickly with a glass of water.
My favorite healthy snack is apples Fuji to be specific.
Why I am excited about this project. I met a wonderful person names Jodie Hart who not only looks great but spoke of how she has lost 3 jeans sizes in a short amount of time. What a testimonial as she explained not feeling deprived of food like so many other diets she has tried. She was so excited Marlene and I just had to try it.
I would like to be in shape so I can take dance classes.

# One crazy, fun thing I’d like to do: Go to the remote parts of Austrailia and photograph the wildlife.
# My favorite way to drink my Apple Cider Vinegar: Tomorrow will be the first time I’ve ever tried it but I plan on following Mari Ann’s advice to dilute with water and drink like a shot.
# My favorite (healthy) snack: Hummus on celery or air popped popcorn.
# Why am I excited about this project? I’ve fought my weight (up and down between 40-80 lbs) for the past 35 years and am sick and tired of yo-yoing which I know isn’t healthy for me. When Mari Ann shared her story with me, I got “goose bumps” because she has a similar story and to see her now and the fabulous shape she’s in (both mentally and physically) is motivation enough.
# One thing I want to do that will require me to be in top shape? Go to Lake City, CO (one of my most favorite places on earth) and HIKE one of the 14 peaks…..no cheating by riding ATV’s which is what I do now.

Why I am excited about this program: I am excited for the brain training and changing the way I think about food. I am excited to get food issues out of the way so that I can go on about life.
One thing I want to do that will require me to be in shape: I want to live a long, active life full of everything the Lord has for me without having to take medications for things like blood pressure, etc. I want to break family patterns in this area and provide a better example for my children.

How to drink Apple Cider Vinegar: I used to do this years ago. My mother-in-law told me about it and I started drinking ACV first thing in the morning. I warm a cup of water, pour in the ACV, and drink it while I’m putting on my make-up. Sometimes I put in a little honey.
Snack: Gala apples, white flesh nectarines, red grapes and almonds
Why I’m excited about the project: I don’t know a lot about what this involves but it sounds like a healthy way to eat, exercise, and live. I need to reduce stress and get in shape.
What I want to do to get in shape: Stick to a walking schedule, do weight bearing exercises to build muscle tone and go hiking in fun, cool places with my husband.
