Women: Burn Belly Fat… Even While You “Celebrate The Season”

by Mari Ann (Admin) on December 11, 2009

Even when we go into it with good intentions, sometimes in our zest to celebrate the Holidays, we get a bit carried away. And we end up stuffing more than just the turkey! If that happened to you this past Thanksgiving weekend, don’t worry. With a little natural detoxing, you can get right back on track and burn belly fat quickly.

For food over-indulgence, your best remedy is organic apple cider vinegar. Apple cider vinegar as a remedy for acid indigestion? Yes, that is exactly right. Even though it may seem counter-intuitive, apple cider vinegar is traditionally used to remedy digestive distress, normalize digestive juices and reduce intestinal bloating. Plus, studies have shown that it is helpful in eliminating body fat – especially if you’re trying to burn belly fat.

To make a beverage that will zap your acid indigestion, mix 1-2 TBL of organic apple cider vinegar in a cup of warm water. Then, sip on this after your meal. You can mix in a small bit of stevia or Xylitol if necessary to make it more palatable.

Apple cider vinegar can also be taken the next day, first thing in the morning. When taken on an empty stomach, apple cider vinegar will get your system moving, helping to eliminate toxins from your body. You can substitute lemon for the morning vinegar if you prefer.

Many herbal teas can help in the detoxification process, too. Look for teas that contain:

  • Ginger – found to soothe the digestive lining and balance gastric juices
  • Chrysanthemum flower – traditionally used to cleanse the liver and neutralize toxins
  • Hawthorn berry – used to cleanse the blood of plaque and other toxins
  • Turmeric supports the detoxification process in the whole body by increasing bile production and releasing and eliminating toxins
  • Milk thistle – protects and restores the liver, due to its content of silymarin
  • Dandelion root has been found by studies to enhance the flow of bile, relieving liver congestion, which in turn aids the body in detoxifying

Additionally, you’ll want to increase your water and fiber intake to help flush your system.

Keep in mind it’s OK to celebrate some during this time of the year, just don’t celebrate everyday! And, implement some of the above steps to start the detox process at times you do over-indulge.

When you follow an “Eat Smart” program like what we teach in The MARI Method, you can continue to burn stomach fat through-out December, and start the New Year already on the path to a new, slimmer you!
