WEEK 1 – Eat Smart

YOU ARE IN CONTROL

The MARI Method program is designed to train YOU to make smart choices about food, based on the way that food makes YOU feel.

Once you make the connection between food and how it affects YOU, and accept the fact that YOU are ultimately in control of what goes in YOUR mouth, you will find yourself making the right choices about what to eat.

How’s That Working For You?

Journaling is an excellent way to make this connection. So, the following section is NOT OPTIONAL step if you want to have long-term success with your weight loss! You will only be journaling for 1 month… not the rest of your life. But the effects of it WILL CHANGE your life!
You're not authorized for Week1 at this time.

I like the apple cider vinegar, I guess because I like tart stuff. I haven’t started the journaling, but I will soon. I see the need because I forget what I ate 3 hours ago! Ugh!

Ok, I thought thats what you guys were talking about…. We had to do that for ballet. YUCK!!! I do not like the burning taste of it as much. So…. I’ll try it again and see. :) The video says “I love apple cider vinegar” so I’ll just keep saying that over and over and over and over…. :)

Yes… apple cider vinegar for weight loss. Taken with meals, it helps keep your insulin levels in check, and helps you digest the food properly, preventing acid reflux. Plus, studies have shown an average stomach fat loss of 2-4 lbs.

Nutritional training….I like written form where I can make a recipe to follow it or take it with me. I love your training….it is very understandable and you cover everything so well…things to remember such as breathing, and getting the most out of your stretch, etc. What I like most out of this training is the way it is making my body look. :0) You are doing a GREAT job Mari Ann….thank you!

And, btw, Ivonne, I am happy to see your commitment to success. Rather than just being defeated by the complaints, you sought out a solution! I know that you will not let other things get in your way of reaching your ultimate weight loss goal, either!

So glad to have you as a member :-)

Ivonne, yes it is fine to mix the Apple Cider V inegar ahead of time and carry it in a glass container to work.

My husband used to feel the same way as your co-workers… that is until he started learning about all the health benefits of ACV. He now drinks his down, twice a day!

I am having some what of a hard time with the Apple Cider Vinegar in regards to it’s pungent odor. It’s not an issue of not being able to drink it but it was brought to my attention today from two of my co-workers that I not bring it to work any more because it has a very offensive smell. When I open the bottle and mix-it in our Kitchen with water, the smell is strong and it lingers. Can I pre-measure the amount I need for both of my meals that I have at work, in a glass bottle that is capped so that I do not continue to offend anyone? I explained to them that it is part of my diet and I will do my best to avoid subjecting them to the smell. Please let me know if pre-mixing it with water before I come in to work in a glass bottle will work. This way, I can swig it outside of our building and my co-workers do not have to smell it. Your response would be greatly appreciated.

I’m so glad you suggest using real butter instead of that fake chemical margarine that people have fallen for as being healthier, due to ads. Also, some diets recommend fake sugar, which again is all chemical and carcinogenic even though that fact is well hidden in this culture. Thanks for your recipes. I love new ideas.

I like reading this type of advice. And the pictures help a lot also. I’ve referred back to this section a couple of times this week. The ACV is bad either. I’m diluting it with 2 Tbls of water and drinking it like a shot. Diluted like that it tastes kind of like pickle juice. yummmmmm

Yes, this was understandable. I like how you show how to make spaghetti squash. Have heard about it for years, but this is 1st time I’ve seen how to do it. I like to read it and I like the pictures or to see you do it
on the video. I like the idea with the apples, too.

Hey Susan – Have you tried mixing in a little honey?
Also, be sure to dilute it, at least 2 parts water to 1 part vinegar.

Steve, my husband takes his with orange or peach Crystal Light, and it tastes kind of like bread & butter pickle juice.

Also, my sister in law said that she prefers it mixed with iced water.

So, some of those thing may help…

I prefer to read…(I can go over and over it)
Great idea to put the ammt of water I need to drink out in a separate container….that will really help me keep track!!!!!

I like to read – I also like that this is easily navigated in the event that I want to refer to it in the future… I think the concept of tracking how we are feeling after eating is a great idea – I know there are times I am so tired after I eat and now I’ll be able to pinpoint those triggers so that I can stay away from them! My favorite part of this section was the water information – I have always just taken for granted the standard 8 / 8ozs was what I should be drinking…I haven’t been drinking enough water!
